In 2014 I used Permaculture to design and inform a nature based writing group at a community garden. It was my first design and I loved the process so much I embarked on a diploma.
Using permaculture through Looby Macnamaras Design Web gave a resilliency to the sessions and group that was robust and had a strong integrity.
Having a natural connection ethos underpinning the sessions also allowed us to start thinking about a wider definition of community: that which includes other species and life forms.
It went onto to seed festivals and projects.
The main ethos underpinning the design was the very instructive permaculture principle: Observe and Interact.
